SYMI'S STYLE: Pretty in Pink

My little girl is offically TWO.  Her birthday landed on Easter this year, which I think is so very fun and so very special.  I just had to go all out with her outfit of course and she just looked like a doll. I have never really dressed her in the typical "foofy" girl outfits, but on occasion I love to put her in an "all girl" outfit.  This was just that.  All girl, all pink!

I am so proud of Symi in so many ways and am so thankful for her life.  My husband challenged me (and himself) the other day on how we should encourage and compliment Symi in her day-to-day life. She hears about 1000 times a day how much we love her (which will never stop) and how beautiful she is.  From family, friends, and complete strangers, she is told she is beautiful.  The truth is, she is beautiful, inside and out, but she is so much more than just beautiful.

She is precious, smart, spunky, affectionate, kind, sweet, funny, a snuggle bunny, a ball of energy, and a free spirit.  I want to remember to tell her that she is all those things.  I want her to know, even at a young age, that although beauty is wonderful and was created by God, there is so much more to who she is and to who she will become.

Today I encourage you to compliment your child(ren) with something they haven't heard about themselves in awhile or ever.  Words are powerful, use them to love and and to encourage!

SYMI'S STYLE: Casual and Girly

The other night we ran out of milk and if you have a toddler, that is not a good equation.  As soon as Symi woke up the next morning, we got dressed, jumped in the car, and headed for Dunkin Donuts - obviously!  Symi (and Daddy's) donut of choice: jelly filled donut holes!

This girl loves flowers!  Yellow ones are her fav.

SYMI'S STYLE: Transition to Fall

It's been raining here in the desert this week, which is something Symi hasn't experience much in her short life.  With the "cooler" weather, of course I broke out long sleeves and boots for a day! I had fun putting Sym Kid in something other than shorts too.

This outfit is a great transition to fall look.  It has a summer pop of color, paired with some fur and a cream long-sleeve shirt.   Oh, and in case you were wondering, autumn officially starts September 22. It can't come any sooner!

Cute and Comfy

Friday's are family day and sometimes we just go where the wind takes us.  No plans, just assured quality time.  Today we found ourselves at one of our favorite parks on the southwest side of town.  Frisbee golf for Charley, playground for Symi, and a beautiful view for me!

When pairing outfits nowadays, I have to keep in mind that I'm packing an extra 20 pounds from baby still...(positive thinking, right?!).  Maxi skirts are always a win because they are uber comfy and can create so many different looks.  I upscaled an old t-shirt of my hubby's recently and paired with the maxi, voila! Cute and comfy attire for the day.

SYMI'S STYLE: Bright and Bold

Being a mom to a little girl is way too much fun!  When Symi Girl was tiny it was fun throwing outfits together, but now that she enjoys getting dressed as much as I like "styling" her, it's a highlight in both our days.  Most days she runs to her closet yelling, "shoes! shoes!" and asks for a bow.  Today's outfit is bright and bold, perfect for summer!
